If you run at 60 and fall through the map while sliding down a ladder, you can quit the game and load the save again to fix it. Whether you unlock the FPS to 60 is up to you, but you should know that running at 60 shortens the length of your jumps and rolls, making certain jumps very difficult to pull off.
